The following are features that we are currently researching. All registered users will be notified of new features and new releases as they become available. With all versions of MUSE, we will attempt to improve the ease of use, performance, and quality of the product. If you have requests or suggestions for new features or added functionality, please feel free to contact us through the address at the end of this document.
• Enhanced Reporting: Provide more flexibility for formatting and printing WorkBooks, charts, and scripts. In addition, we are currently developing a new report environment within MUSE to allow you to combine multiple MUSE objects, text, and graphics in a report document. You’ll be able to update recurring reports to reflect recalculated or modified WorkBooks, charts, and scripts. Our objective is to provide a complete tool for accessing and analyzing information, and then communicating the results in a printed business report.
• Query Builder Enhancements: Expand querying criteria to include conditions on data items, provide more flexibility for list functions in a query, support for relative referent formulas.
• Microsoft® Windows™ Version: We are presently developing MUSE for Microsoft Windows.
• Crosstab Builder Enhancements: Improved user interface, support for more crosstab functions, comprehensive interval builder, multi-table support.
• Date and Time Support: Expand support for date and time formats; provide ability to chart dates and times; increase date and time math and functions.
• Charts: More chart kinds, chart types, text features, draw features, callouts, shadowing of 3D objects, export formats, and color flexibility.
We are currently researching the following:
• Multi-key Sort: The ability to sort by secondary keys. MUSE currently allows multi-key sort as a sequence of sort commands.
• Smart Recalc in WorkBook: Ability to limit the recalculation of the WorkBook to a selected area, thus decreasing the amount of time it takes to recalc changes in a large WorkBook.
• Charts: Dynamic linking between MUSE WorkBooks and charts so that recalculation of a WorkBook is automatically reflected in the corresponding chart(s).
• Data Importing: Selective data loading, and the ability to add data items to an existing table.
• Improved Asymmetry: Ability to open asymmetric non-MUSE files as WorkBooks, including one-step Move Data to Labels.
• Hierarchical WorkBook: Ability to display WorkBook information in a hierarchical format and specify more than two logical dimensions for each physical dimension.
• Macro/Command Language: Language equivalents for menu commands and dialog box options that allow complete MUSE sessions to be script-controlled.
• Auxiliary Dictionaries: The ability to put new dictionary entries into a specified secondary dictionary (even over a server).
We will be exploring alliances and inter-application possibilities with key developers of data, software, networking, and hardware to keep MUSE on the leading edge of technology.
